Do imagine forgetting everything you planned to say? You can rid yourself of the overwhelming anxiety in the pit of your stomach. These symptoms of the fear of public speaking can be overcome by following the advice on this episode of My Biz Dream Team: Opportunity Wednesday Training Series.

1. Being Nervous vs Being Afraid

I understand your fear of public speaking. My entire professional life as an attorney, presenter, and spokesperson was all about public speaking. As an entrepreneur, I am often asked to make remarks or speak about my business. Each time I stand up to speak, I am nervous. Being nervous is a good thing. It gives me the edge to do my best. I do not want to be complacent about the opportunity to influence and persuade my audience. However, being nervous and being afraid are two different emotions.

2. The Solution

To help you overcome the fear of public speaking, I recommend that you what I did. Schedule yourself to speak in public on a regular basis. The more you speak, the less afraid you become. Like swimming, you just need to jump into the water! As you do more public speaking, you become a better public speaker and more confident in your abilities. You will quickly overcome your fear of public speaking after a few months of regular speaking. You realize that you will not forget your prepared remarks. You realize that the audience will not laugh at you. In fact, the audience will support and follow your lead if you provide them valuable information that helps them solve their problems.

3. Implementing the Solution

You can quickly overcome your fear of public speaking by making sure that you speak in public at least once a month. When six weeks passed without making a presentation, I felt rusty and more anxious when I returned to the stage. Make sure that does not happen to you. Make public speaking a habit. There is no better way to position yourself as an authority.

It creates possibilities to reach new audiences. By speaking on a platform that you control, you can create an atmosphere of trust between you and your potential clients. Building trust is key. Remember that most people will not buy from you, until they know, like, and trust you.

Your purpose must go beyond the desire for making money.  Do you remember the vision and desire that fueled your dream for your business? Was it the desire to serve certain clients? Was it a dream of sharing a topic or process with the world? Did you want to leave a legacy of success for family? When your determination starts to falter, you will need to remember your purpose. Your purpose will give you the courage, strength, and resolve to continue.

Do You Learn from Your Mistakes?

Your determination will wither if you do not learn from your mistakes. A successful entrepreneur does not quit when situations do not go exactly as planned. The determined entrepreneur will figure out what went wrong. Then she will adjust and adapt to the situation. Your ability to think, be flexible, and resilient will serve you over time. You cannot let your mistakes cause you to be psychologically devastated. The determined entrepreneur learns from her mistakes and keeps going. Her success is right around the corner.

Do You Focus on Strategic Actions?

Your determination will wither if you stay busy working in your business, but see no results. A successful entrepreneur will dig deep within herself and focus on what is most important to achieve success. The determined entrepreneur will figure out the tasks and activities that can be delegated to her team. Then she will act on the specific tasks that are strategic for her success. She will keep moving ahead. The determined entrepreneur understands the importance of taking one little step on a key priority. Then another step and another step to gain momentum. The successful entrepreneur understands the need to cultivate those habits of determination that will serve her well now and in the future.

However, many people I know, get stuck because they do not where to begin.  It has been my experience that you can find great ideas for your blog content almost everywhere. To help you get started, I recommend these 12 sources for great blog content ideas. Keep your mind on your target audience as you use these resources.

1. Blogs targeting similar markets to you.

Search on Google for “[x topic] blog” Add them to a feed reader (try Feedly or a mobile reader).

2. Social media accounts targeting similar markets.

Search on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and so forth. Look at what others are doing in your market.

3. Trending Topics Social Media.

What is your market talking about and asking for on Twitter and Facebook? Do not just look at the businesses creating content. Look at what your actual target market is talking about.

4. PLR content.

This is done-for-you content that you can purchase inexpensively and then edit, brand and monetize. Try the content at allprivatelabelcontent.com or coachglue.com

5. Local traditional news media.

Read and watch for local hot topics.

6. Worldwide media.

1. Create Your Own Blog / Website –

First, it is vitally important you have a blog or website that is your home base to promote products from. Do not try to be involved in too many niches at a time. Instead focus on one niche website and / or blog in which to promote the right products for your audience. 2. Use the Product –

In most cases it is important that you use the products you promote. You want to know the product inside and out and able to talk about it intelligently. It is extremely important that you understand your audience enough to be able to recommend the right products to them. You should explain to them why the product that you are promoting is something they want to buy. If you can show and tell your audience how a product solves a problem for them and why, you will be much more successful.

(1) What is Affiliate Marketing?

First, you will need to understand the concept of affiliate marketing. So, what is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is promoting the products or services of others. Typically, this occurs on your blog where you write useful and informative posts. Within the body of these blog posts you will place links to the products or services that you are discussing. If a reader clicks on a link and makes a purchase, you will earn a commission. As an affiliate marketer, you can also place advertisements for your chosen affiliate companies on their website. You have more credibility in promoting a product if you really believe in it. Show how the product or service has benefited you and your business. Write reviews, how-to posts, comparison charts and offer tips for your topic. For example, how to create a perfect cup of coffee. Where relevant, insert links to your affiliate sites. Remember to promote products and services that you know and love that are relevant to your target audience.

(3) Where to Find Affiliate Products to Promote?

It is important to get to know the people behind the products. After all, they are your business partners. Establish relationships with them. It could lead to other business opportunities.

One of my favorite business partners for affiliate marketing is Connie Ragen Green. I have known Connie for many years and have interviewed her on my podcast. I met her in Toronto, where she spoke to a large group of entrepreneurs about earning money on-line. Her presentation fascinated me and I sought her out to find out more about this fascinating area of entrepreneurship. Since that time, I have taken many of Connie’s courses and promote her courses to my clients. She is known as the “Queen of Affiliate Marketing,” having won many prizes for affiliate marketing. If you want to know more about getting started quickly with affiliate marketing, I highly recommend that you take her course, “Really Simple Affiliate Marketing.”

It felt overwhelming when my mentor first told me that I needed a blog to establish myself as an online entrepreneur. Do you feel that way? Do you feel overwhelmed by the idea of setting up a blog? Does the thought of writing 2-3 blog articles each week seem daunting? I understand. It felt that way to me at first. However, I have managed to consistently blog for more than a year. Imagine if you had a simple 3-step process that you could implement today to quickly start an awesome blog. Do not let the feeling of overwhelm keep you from pursuing your dream!

In this episode of My Biz Dream Team: Opportunity Wednesday Training Series we discuss how you can quickly start a blog. We walk you through how to get your blog up and running in matter of hours.

1. Buy a Domain Name

First you will need a name for your blog. Begin, by thinking strategically about your blog and the specific topics that you will address. Find a name that resonates with your intended audience and then purchase that domain name. Make sure that your domain name is a “.com.” Your domain name should not be a “.net” or any of the other variations. Buying a great domain name is the first step to quickly starting an awesome blog.

2. Select a Hosting Service

Next, you want to decide on a hosting service for your blog. Some bloggers start out with a free service. I did at first. But I quickly found that to be unacceptable for my long-term growth. So instead I began using Bluehost to host my blog. It is quick and reliable. Try it to see if it works for you.

3. Create Your Blog

Most bloggers use WordPress. It has become the industry standard because of its ease of use. There are also several free plugins that you can use to make your WordPress blog even more functional. Acknowledging that you must make self responsibility the cornerstone of your success can be a daunting challenge. But, if you want to achieve extraordinary success in your business and in your life, you must make self responsibility the cornerstone.  It was certainly difficult for me to accept the truth of this concept. I wanted to blame someone else or something else for the deal that I lost or the client I did not get. But once I understood that I controlled my own destiny, I was ready to seize the opportunities that came my way. Remember, “There are no excuses!”

Other People are not Responsible for Your Success

I realize that there may be economic setbacks such as the Great Recession of 2008. Your suppliers may go out of business. Your virtual assistant may decide to quit. Although these circumstances may impact your business and your life, you must realize that they are beyond your control. You can however control how you react to these setbacks. You alone are responsible for the success of your business. Have you planned for these eventualities? Are you taking responsibility to meet the challenges of these circumstances?

Other People Probably are in Worse Circumstances than You

No matter how bad you think you have it, others probably have it even worse. So, stop crying and start taking responsibility for your success.
Here is a simple creed that is worth repeating throughout the day. It is especially helpful when you start to feel sorry for yourself:
